

The Chicago Office of Emergency Management and Communication (OEMC) has designed and implented The Chicago Community Emergency Response Team (Chicago CERT) with its partners The Chicago Police Department (CPD) and The Chicago Fire Department (CFD). This is the Volunteer Management Site created in January 2016 to help better manage and communicate with our over 250 Chicago CERT Volunteers. You will be able to create and manage your own volunteer profile and sign up for training and events. Thank you for being a vital part of the Chicago CERT program.
To provide citizen preparednes through educational outreach and advocacy for protection of one's self, one's family and one's fellow citizens during times of duress
To implement additional training and simulation exercises that serve to supplement first responders's efforts in search and rescue, emergency triage and community recovery
To successfully strengthen communities within the City of Chicago through proactive outreach campaigns designed to educate local citizens on emergency preparedness capabilities
To successfully recruit, retain and manage volunteers to secure econic structural and community recovery during and after a disaster
